Rotary Club of Forked River

Thanksgiving Program - 11/19/2004

This Thanksgiving, our Rotary Club purchased 155 complete Thanksgiving meals that included a large Turkey, dinner rolls, stuffing, potatoes, gravy and pumpkin pie.  107 meals were distributed to families in Lacey, 30 to Waretown and the balance to Barnegat.  This was an increase over the 140 Thanksgiving meals we provided in 2003.

Rotarians transported the food from The Shop Rite of Lacey to the Lacey Township Community Hall.  About 40 members of the Lacey High School Interact Club unloaded, sorted and packed the 155 Thanksgiving meals for distribution.

The Rotary Club of Forked River would like to the Shop Rite of Lacey for their there continued support of our program.  We would also like to thank the Lacey Food Bank, The Waretown Police Department and the Barnegat Food Bank for helping us distribute the food to the local families.
